The Tactical Air Dominance Department (N151) is transforming warfighter operations by accelerating the fielding of advanced families of weapon systems through digital acquisition, advanced simulation and emulation, resilient communications, and autonomy experimentation. Our Department is seeking an experienced, assertive, highly entrepreneurial, and collaborative Lead Cloud and Networking Engineer to lead and execute our Advanced Aircraft (ADVA) Systems Design and Engineering Task with the Fighters & Advanced Aircraft Directorate at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. This position offers challenging opportunities to apply integration, innovation, and analysis skills to directly address some of the Air Force’s highest priority challenges such as the Next-Generation Air Dominance Family of Systems. This position is on-site at Wright-Patterson AFB and may require temporary duty travel to support critical sponsor objectives.
Roles & Responsibilities:
The ADVA Systems Design and Engineering Task Leader is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing a defined body of work in support of the sponsor’s mission. This includes translating sponsor objectives into clear technical tasks, managing scope, schedule, and deliverables, and coordinating the work of a multidisciplinary team. The ADVA Systems Design and Engineering Task Leader ensures technical quality, integrates inputs across team members and partners, and proactively identifies risks and mitigation strategies. They serve as a primary interface with sponsor stakeholders, provide regular status and decision briefings, and deliver well-founded recommendations aligned with sponsor priorities and MITRE’s independent, objective role.
