Location: Virtual and travel as required (candidate must be located near a major airport in the USA)

My client specializes in independent training servicing the semiconductor design and verification marketplace. They have grown substantially over the past number of years and are poised for significant additional growth throughout North America.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a technical lead having up-to-date hands-on experience developing embedded software with microcontrollers and application processors to join a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where you can make a positive impact on the business. Your upbeat, energetic attitude and ability to develop training curriculum and then effectively engage an audience and present complex engineering topics in a clear and readily absorbed fashion will be key to your success in this exciting role. This is an exciting role that will enable you to gain significant recognition within the embedded systems and software community as an expert in embedded systems by helping others gain knowledge of object oriented programming in real-time embedded systems, concurrency, synchronization and resource sharing, multi-core and multi-threaded embedded software development, distributed memory management, templates, exception handling, cpu/mcu instruction sets, through instructor led classroom training.

You will provide live and online training and develop courses related to Embedded Systems and be ready to train and develop courses related to one or more of the following topics, including Yocto Project, Securing Embedded Systems, Embedded C, C++ & Rust, Embedded Linux Device Drivers, Zephyr RTOS, Android, Energy optimization for embedded systems, debugging embedded systems and ARM software development across the v8 and v9 architectures. You will also:

  • Develop and present webinars on related topics
  • Create online self-paced training courses with audio narration and interactive quizzes
  • Work closely with the sales team to understand customer needs and to customize course content to suit specific team requirements
  • Travel to customers and training sites worldwide
  • Sustain and enhance your knowledge at the leading edge of embedded systems design
  • Participate in technical marketing activities and support of the sales process

KEY REQUIREMENTS :

Solid knowledge and recent hands-on expertise in real-time embedded C/C++ software, embedded Linux, Yocto, and secure hardening of embedded systems. Ideal candidate will have experience in providing classroom training and/or customer-facing applications engineering and be comfortable with 25%+ travel to present classes at customer sites.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Strong knowledge in at least some of the following list of topics, and with a strong interest in rounding out your knowledge to encompass all the following:

ARM architecture and instruction set, AXI-based SoC platform integration, TrustZone, CoreSight, exception handling, Neon, SMP micro-kernels, ARM Debug & Trace.

  • Rust as applied to embedded systems
  • Zephyr RTOS deployment
  • Excellent communication skills are a must. Clear, articulate communicator who expresses confidence and is adept and enthusiastic about elevating the knowledge of their students.
  • Excellent professional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external clients at all staff levels.
  • Capable of impressing customers in pre-sales, training, and technical presentation situations
  • 5+ years of industry experience with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Master's Degree preferred.
