Job Title: Security Officer
Position Type: Contract (Temp-to-Perm: 3–6 Months Conversion)
Pay Range: $20–24/hour (W2)
Location: Philadelphia, PA 19104
Shift: 2nd Shift ONLY (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM)
Required Education & Certifications (Mandatory)
-High School Diploma/GED
-PA Act 235 with the Pennsylvania State Police
-An active Driver's License.
-CPI Training from the Crisis Prevention Institute within 6 months of hire
Required Skills & Experience (Mandatory)
• Active PA Act 235 Certification (REQUIRED BEFORE SUBMISSION)
• Active Driver’s License with CLEAN driving record (REQUIRED)
• Ability to operate company vehicle and qualify for insurance
• Ability to work 2nd shift and rotate shifts if required
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
• Ability to respond to emergencies and high-pressure situations calmly
• Basic computer skills (incident reporting systems, CCTV, MS Office/Outlook)
Preferred Skills & Experience
• 1+ year of security experience (hospital, law enforcement, military, or related field)
• CPI Certification (can be obtained after hire)
• Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field
Job Description / Project
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role involves active monitoring, emergency response, and customer service in a healthcare setting.
Key responsibilities include:
• Performing entry screening, patrolling facilities , and monitoring security systems
• Responding to emergency situations as a first responder
• Enforcing safety policies and procedures
• Managing visitor access, ID checks, and authorization
• Handling incident reporting and documentation
• Assisting with conflict resolution and patient safety situations
• Providing security escorts and customer assistance
• Supporting fire brigade, emergency preparedness, and helicopter operations
• Assisting with parking enforcement and campus safety
Additional Requirements
• Temp-to-perm opportunity (conversion in 3–6 months)
• Must be able to wear respirator equipment if required
• Must be comfortable working in healthcare/high-risk environments
• Must be able to handle physical and emergency response duties
