Project Coordinator (Contract-to-Hire)

Chesapeake, VA | 11-Month Contract-to-Hire

We’re hiring a Project Coordinator to support engineering and construction projects for a federal program. This is a great opportunity for a highly organized professional who thrives in fast-paced, detail-driven environments and enjoys collaborating across teams.

What You’ll Do

• Support Project Managers and project teams by coordinating administrative and operational project activities
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution
• Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables; assist with monthly progress reporting
• Prepare and present meeting notes, reports, and presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Word
• Coordinate and facilitate project meetings, training sessions, and stakeholder communications
• Maintain project documentation (electronic and physical records), ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Review invoices, expenses, and billing items for accuracy and timely processing
• Assist with project setup, closeout activities, and contract/subcontract preparation
• Monitor unbilled costs, AR issues, and provide reporting insights to Project Managers
• Support IT coordination for project teams and ensure resources are properly allocated

✅ Qualifications

• Education & Experience (one of the following): Bachelor’s Degree + 8 years of experience
• Associate Degree + 10 years of experience
• High School Diploma/GED + 11 years of experience
• Strong ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and organization
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact across all organizational levels
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems effectively
