Job Description

We are seeking a personal chef to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner on site in a private home in Sag Harbor on the weekends from June 26 through Labor Day. 

• Those with at least 2-3 years of private home experience preferred
• This is a household that values high-end presentation, discretion, and simply delicious, flavorful food. 
• Meals may be family style or served as three-course plated meals.
• The ideal candidate is reliable, flexible, calm and poised, with great energy, professional, discreet, and capable of staying cool headed even when things are busy.
• You should be able to work well with other household staff. 

Benefits

• Compensation: $800–$1,000 per day, commensurate with experience
• Housing: Private accommodations provided nearby at a hotel or AirBnB if needed

Responsibilities

• LOCAL CANDIDATES HIGHLY PREFERRED 
• In person paid testing required
• Schedule: Friday to Sunday Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
• Generally cooking for 2 to 6 people and managing service. 
• Providing menus with advance notice .
• Frequently entertaining guests for dinner parties (up to 14 guests). For groups upwards of 10, servers will be on staff. For larger dinners, a sous can be brought in if needed.
• Shopping for all meals, ensuring the house is stocked for whatever meals are being prepared, and maintaining proper receipts 
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and inventory
• Operate independently and efficiently without a lot of supervision
