Lafayette Hotels, a renowned family-owned and operated company with over 30 hotels and restaurants throughout Maine and New Hampshire, is seeking an active, self-motivated Laundry Attendant to join our team for the upcoming season. With properties in stunning locations such as Maine's Acadia National Park, the Southern Maine Beaches, and New Hampshire's White Mountains, Lafayette Hotels offers a perfect blend of work and adventure.

Job Summary

Laundry Attendants are responsible for the sorting, washing, drying and folding of linen. They are integral to our success in offering a beautifully appointed guest room with crisp linens

and fluffy white towels, and a dining experience with wrinkle free, spotless tablecloths and napkins. Some experience in commercial laundry facilities or hotel housekeeping/laundry departments is helpful but not required. We are happy to train those willing to learn.

Daily Duties

• Sorts all soiled laundry items: linens, terry, rags, mops, etc.
• Washes, dries, and folds all laundry
• Sorts out stained items to be treated with the appropriate chemicals and identifies permanently soiled items
• Restocks laundry room shelves, carts, storage areas with appropriate levels of linen and terry
• Monitors detergent and other cleaning agents and uses and replaces them as needed
• Ensures cleanliness of the laundry room, machines, and storage areas
• May assist with the transport of soiled/clean linen. 
• May assist with cleaning various areas of the hotel and may deliver items to guest rooms as needed

Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. 
• Frequent walking 
• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time 
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push, and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 40 pounds. 
• Ability to work in varying temperatures
• Ability to see clearly with or without corrective wear
• Have a basic comprehension of spoken and written English
• Ability to work in an environment where the noise level is usually moderate to loud
