Job Description

A private foundation in Washington, D.C. is seeking an eager and enthusiastic administrative professional to provide high-end executive support to its founding Principal with a white-glove touch. As the Executive Assistant, you will be responsible for managing calendars, travel, drafting correspondence, assisting with projects, and operating as a key gatekeeper for the principal. This Principal is bi-coastal, supporting intense initiatives across their programming and social justice groups and seeks an adaptable spirit, able to assist with light personal assistant duties. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Principal’s calendar, appointments, and travel logistics, including coordinating activities across time zones.
  • Serve as a liaison with other staff and external contacts, screening incoming requests, addressing inquiries, assessing priority, and directing to the appropriate contact.
  • Draft and review correspondence, documents, meeting notes, and other written materials with impeccable attention to tone, clarity, and professionalism. Ensure that all files are organized and easily accessible.

  • Track and manage items, schedules, and logistics in alignment with the Principal’s standards and expectations.
  • Prepare and submit expense reports.
  • Collaborate with household, corporate, and external contacts while maintaining a calm, professional presence and strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Assist with projects, errands, and personal assistant tasks as needed, ensuring seamless execution of priorities.

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

  • Support a driven leader working at the intersection of social justice and international change, powered by diversity and a passion for positive impact.
  • Employees enjoy competitive compensation and generous benefits which include health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and more.
  • This opportunity is fully onsite in the Washington, D.C. office, which is accessible via public transportation. The office is pet-friendly, so comfortability around animals is essential!
  • Flexibility to travel with the Principal to a secondary office location for the duration of a month over the summer is required.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Administrative experience. You have at least four (4) years of prior experience providing administrative support to a principal(s). Candidates who have a bachelor’s degree will stand out!
  • Thorough and thoughtful. You have exceptional organizational and time management skills, often taking a proactive approach to work, anticipating needs with ease.
  • Writing wiz. You have a knack for writing and demonstrate professionalism through all communication.
  • Team oriented and solution oriented. You thrive as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment, and are resourceful, independently working to address conflicts as they arise.
  • Systems skilled. You are proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and can easily learn new software/technology as needed.
  • Emotional intelligence. You are comfortable navigating high expectations, working with diverse stakeholders, and balancing firmness with tact.
